The TruScan™ G3 is designed to move material identification from the laboratory to the point where the decision is required. During incoming raw-material inspection, for example, operators can verify chemical identity while the material remains inside its packaging, avoiding conventional workflows involving package opening, sampling, transport to the laboratory and subsequent analysis. This approach can help reduce inspection time, sampling costs and the risk of product contamination or operator exposure.
The analyzer combines a Raman optical platform with an embedded chemometrics engine, using multivariate residual analysis to compare acquired spectra against established identification methods. The workflow is designed to simplify interpretation for the operator: instead of requiring specialist spectral analysis, the system directly provides the material-identification result.
Backwards compatibility with previously validated TruScan™ RM methods is an important advantage for facilities already using the platform, supporting a simpler transition to the G3 generation and reducing the effort associated with method transfer.
Key applications include identity verification of incoming raw materials, in-process materials and finished products, identity checks prior to material dispensing during manufacturing and field or laboratory identification of potentially counterfeit drugs.
